I was fortunate to have three of my Lensbaby images accepted into Umpqua Valley Art Association's the PWNW 2012 show in Roseburg, OR. At the reception on May 11th the photo "Lola's Chair" received a third place award. The UVAA's gallery is very nice and they seem to be doing great things for the Arts. If you are in the area make sure to stop by.

Field Test: Pinwide Lens
These are some images shot with Wanderlust's pinwide lens for the micro4/3rds cameras. It has some appealing features such as a super wide angle of view and is very well made. One problem is a yellow blotch that shows up in the upper right quadrant that is disconcerting for those shooting color. Wanderlust is supposed to be coming up with a app to correct this, but so far it has not happened. I convert my images to B+W using Nik Software's Silver Efx Pro, so it has not been a problem for me so far. The blotch effects several brands of cameras so it is not just my problem. New and not so new
Here is the cover of my soon to be released Blurb book and a couple of recent images. Some of the photos have been shown here, but there are many that have not. I am just waiting to get the proof copy back and if everything checks out I will release it.
The weather is starting to get better and I am going down for a reception in Roseburg, OR on May 11th. It will be at the Umpqua Valley Arts Association Gallery from 5-7pm. I was fortunate to have three of my images selected for the PhotoWorks Northwest Show. If you are in the area stop and say hello. I plan on driving the old highway back home and stopping to shoot in some of the small towns that were bypassed when the interstate was constructed. Should be fun and a chance to go somewhere I have not been for a very long time.
