Winter Blues

I went to a reception at Linn-Benton C.C. last night. Two local mobile photographers (Kat Sloma and Bill Lang)  were showing their work. Both artists have very different approchs and styles, but showed that even using the same technology one could still produce widely different results. If you are in the Albany/Corvallis area check out the show. It is open M-F 8-5 in the South Santiam Gallery.

Have been stuck indoors so I only have a couple of images to share today. The first done with the Olympus E-P2 + pinhole set up that I have used for the last year or so, and the other shot using the iPod Touch 5G + Slow Camera App. It will be interesting to compare the two in print form. I am still concerned about how the 5MP image will hold up when enlarged.

Art Post Card Swap

Thought I would post this:

A friend of mine, Kat Sloma, has run a annual post card swap for the last three years called "Liberate Your Art". It sounds like a fun thing to do. I have participated in print swaps in the past, but that can be time consuming and costly. Post cards are a easy and inexpensive way to share your work and to see what others are up to. For all the details just click on the link below.

Here are two photo images shot with the iPod Touch 5G and Hipstamatic App:

Moving Along

Here are a few new images. The first was shot with my digital pinhole set up that I have been using for about the last year and a half, and is a pinhole montage. The last two were shot using my iPod Touch and the Slow Shutter Cam App. Shooting with the iPod Touch seems a little strange compared to my usual approach, but is starting to feel better as I go along. It has opened up a interesting world both technically and esthetically. Happy Trails - Kurt

Some More Of Whatever

It has been a struggle of late. Unsure of where I am headed with photography or even if what I have been pursuing remains photography. Not a whole lot of support on the local level. But that is nothing new, nor is the occasional questioning of what heck am I doing. At any rate, here are a few more -

Some More of That

Here are a few more ICM/pinhole montages. These were shot using my Oly E-P2 camera. Most recently I have been shooting with my iPod camera. Not sure what to make of this new way of making photos, but I sure do like the ease of using the apps. I think I will continue to shoot with the Olympus. but edit with an iPad. Happy Trails - Kurt

A Little Bit of This or That

Some new work that has come about with more free time. Trying some different things and searching for answers to what works best with this technique. The figurative (mutiple layer pinhole composite work) has been receiving a fair amount of attention, but the single shot images like the Flash Series and Rotation Series are truer to the basic idea and are more photographic. Not sure if I should even be worrying about this, but there it is.

Wishing all of you a Happy Holidays and  Great New Year. Kurt

Some More New Images

Things are slowing done somewhat. We are in the teens and near zero at times. This make traveling difficult, but also gives time to work in my "studio". These images are ones that have been on hold, or have been modified after living with them for a time. I started teaching a digital photo class fall quarter and that has taken lot of time away from studio work . I have enjoyed the opertunity to teach again, and class has it's final tomorrow. Soon I can get back to working on creating images again. So here is a mixed bag new ones for you to check out. Kurt
